We have a vacancy for a Service Engineer to be based at our headquarters at Drayton St Leonard, Oxfordshire, but to travel extensively within the UK and occasionally overseas. Initially, this role will be part-time at 3 days per week, however following a successful trial period we would expect to raise this to full time. For the exceptional candidate, we may be able to offer full-time employment from the outset.
The successful candidate will be an experienced aircraft engineer in the broadest sense, however we are open-minded as to how this experience was gained - whether for example as an inspector for an amateur association, Licensed Aircraft Engineer, RAF technical trade, or experienced homebuilder. Holding at least a PPL, and preferably having check pilot or test pilot experience, you will be accomplished at identifying and rectifying all manner of technical issues with light aircraft, including airframe, engine, propeller and electrics. In addition, you will be able to think laterally and apply your skills in new ways, including designing and carrying out minor modifications, and tests on aircraft parts and materials.
Full training will be provided, including that on all aspects of maintaining the Dynamic with our partners in Slovakia.
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Maintaining the company’s aircraft to the highest standards of serviceability
- Servicing, repairing and modifying customer aircraft
- Test flying of series production aircraft
- Ad hoc tests of parts and materials
- Maintaining the company’s workshop and equipment
If you are interested in any of the positions below, you should initially send us an e-mail, providing your name and address, current position, and a brief description of your experience (including your full current CV if available), along with when you could be available to join us. Please e-mail recruitment@ylac.co.uk. We will normally send a personal response by e-mail within 24 hours, detailing the next step in the process.
