Sherburn Aero Club Flight Simulator User Group
Reply Quote

Hi there I am starting a FS user group up around a real aviation environment we are going to have monthly meetings on Saturdays were you can set up your systems show off your latest hardware or software purchase! And there is 5% discount to be had from Pooleys when you quote SHAC001 at the checkout on all your aviation needs!

The benefits of being based at a real airfield is numerous there is a wealth of knowledge to be had from ATPL's CPL's PPL's PPLH's. The cost to join the group is £10 per year this gives you access to the airfield at anytime not just FS days it's classed as a social membership so this also enable you to fly in club aircraft with a pilot of course.

That leads me on to the next plus there is always the possibility that you will get the bug to take your flying further and start the PPL or NPPL course as did the chap I am flying with at the moment.

Phil came to the 2006 FS show I staged at sherburn and took advantage of the discount we were offering to sign up for the PPL course and he has now qualified, Phil still enjoys the sim.

The Group will be run at Sherburn Aero Club in North Yorkshire about 20miles East of Leeds we intend to start the first week in February there will be no pecking order I want it to be very informal just like minded people doing what they like to do.

Anybody wanting more info drop me a line e-mail  john@flyto.fsnet.co.uk please put Sherburn Aero Club Flight Simulator User Group in the subject box thanks I will look forward to here from you.....John

Hi just a quick update on the first meeting of the Sherburn Aero Club fs user group! the weather did its best to ruin the event by snowing in a lot of areas during the night before the show putting a few people off traveling! But by 12.00 midday we had around 30 to 40 people turn up, Fly UK VA set up there lap tops with demo's on what they are about we had Dave Curly a student PPL at Sherburn with is 3 screen wonder and a number of other systems running.

By the end of the day we had signed up 23 new FS user group members Sherburn Aero Club had gained 11 new social members and 1 new PPL student we had 5 simmers up in the real world sky thanks to Sherburn
pilots offering there empty seats ups for grabs so all in all a good first meeting we will now build on this success. And with the offer from Just Flight and Flightstore to support us as much has they can I think it could turn into something exciting.

Check out the Fly UK link for the Group
