More MCR01 nonsense

Kitplanes item.

“At the upper end, a composite microlight capable of over 100 mph in level flight such as the Dyn’Aero designs…..

An MCR01 ULC will manage 120kn + in level flight, it holds the world record.

“Dyn’Aero recommend you go to the factory…”

No.

Long long ago the only kit available was the slow build, and you had to go to the factory to build it. When the quick build came out all this work was done for you by the factory. Very few of the UK fleet were slow build kits.

Lovely picture of G-CUTE

Caption reads

Dyn’Aero’s Ban-Bi (did you mean Mr COLOMBAN’s Ban-Bi – the MC100)

Microlight

G-CUTE is an MCR01 VLA, not a Micro or strictly speaking, a Ban-Bi.

You can spend £50,000 on a kit aircraft and save £10,000 a year on running costs, plus you have a moden design with much beter performance, thats practical aviation

Thanks for the corrections, Rod. The article was partly produced by the PFA and was signed off by Francis Donaldson - only the best for Pilot magazine - but it looks as though a few details weren't right. Big sigh from the editor.

Not about to slit my wrists, though - it was an extremely thoroughly researched piece, read well, and got all the essential points across to readers, most of whom don't know the first thing about kitplanes.

Now an expert like yourself....

Don't suppose YOU'd care to write something for us? - Nick Bloom, Editor, Pilot.
