We wish to extend a big thank you to Tatenhill for their hospitality on Saturday 17th May.
We had set off with 13 crew and passengers in five aircraft, including a Stearman, Chipmunk and Stampe, from Liverpool . The formation took off but were thwarted in their attempt to make it to Old Warden due to deteriorating weather.
The reception, help and advice received from John in ops and Margaret in the cafe was excellent with no charge made for the diversionary landings, nor was there a charge for parking or hangarage for the vintage aircraft.
A good night was had at the recommended local hostelry, The Boars Head.
The next morning we had blue skies and the hangar doors were opened up early so that our departure slot for Duxford could be met.
It was a very pleasant, if unexpected stay.
