PPL Licence in Budapest
Reply Quote

Hi All,

Hope you are well.  I am looking at taking up my PPL while over here in Budapest.  I am 37, from the UK and working here for the next year or so.  I have a few questions that I would really like to know the answers to.

If I start my pilot training here in Budapest, can I then qualify here and use my licence in the UK, USA and Central America?

If I start the training and do not complete it in Budapest can I continue where I left off elsewhere?

What opportunities does anyone know of in Central America or the USA for PPL holders?

I have been looking at the books for the exams prior to the flight training, and have come across Trevor Thom literature, is this the recommended version.  What is the time needed to get the exams done, and how much time would you recommend me putting in to studying?

If there is amyone in Budapest currently learning to fly and would want to double up with me, then great!

Many Regards

Matt

My input :

1. your objective in flying ?

2. learning in Budapest : language issues/quality of training/availability of aircraft&instructors/active suport from your entourage&from the training organisation ... and so on...

3. once you have answers to a whole load of questions like these (I am sure you can figure them out), well, it is up to you.

4. if your objective is to fly mostly on the other side of the Pond, then a FAA licence may be a cheaper way to go.

remember : if you learn your basics there, in an abnormal situation you will revert to them.

happy flying
