A question of Currency
Reply Quote

Having some problems with this:

I'm the proud holder of a CPL IR with a Dash 8 type rating, a recently expired ME rating and expired single pilot IR (I have a multi crew IR as part of my Dash rating)

I fly the Dash full time, aprox 60-70 hours a month, but haven't flown an SEP for about 9months although the rating is still in date.

What, if any, currency requirements do I need before I can fly an SEP?

In  the UK(don't know if austria is the same)

3 take offs and landings in previous 90 days before carrying pax.

so if you owned your own aircaft you could fly today.(legally but not sensibly)

If you rent then they would want a check ride as its a bit different from what you have got used to in your day job (flare height for one)

hope that helps

Thanks John,

Thats as I thought, its all EU Ops anyway. Admittedly I need a fligth with an FI anyway as part of my SEP renewal, however i'm loath to pay the horrendous prices quoted by my local flying school (£220 for a PA28 161 with FI for an hour)
